Dr. Katie Liebenberg, Psy.D, is a licensed clinical psychologist who has been working with children, teenagers, young adults and families for the past 13 years. Dr. Liebenberg specializes in treating children, adolescents, and families. Dr. Liebenberg earned her doctorate from George Washington University with a clinical focus in child and adolescent psychotherapy. Dr. Liebenberg has extensive training and has worked in a variety of settings: community mental health, inpatient and outpatient hospital programs, school counseling centers, and private practice. She also served as director of adolescent treatment in an outpatient mental health center.
Dr. Liebenberg treats children, adolescents and young adults struggling with a variety of behavioral issues including stress, anxiety, depression, ADD/ADHD, personality disorders and obsessive compulsive disorder. She has expertise in treating mood disorders and social adjustment issues. Dr. Liebenberg uses a variety of therapeutic strategies and techniques combining psychodynamic, cognitive and relational theories that are tailored to treat the strengths of the individual. Dr. Liebenberg’s expertise includes psychological testing and evaluations for children, adolescents, and adults in order to assess a wide range of cognitive, academic, and emotional difficulties. Dr. Liebenberg’s goal is to help her clients reach their full potential and lead richer, more satisfying lives.
